Description

Filter for rainwater for an IBC container

The aim is to filter the water well. If the super-fine filter clogs, the water flows through a somewhat coarser filter. I use moss or straw to make clogging of the filter even less likely.

The fine filter is created by the print profile. Be carefull if you touch the print profile.

The mesh in the lid is fine enough to keep out mosquitoes.

You can also use the lid alone.

The model fits for 30mm diameter hose. The hose is fed through a separate insert. If requested in the comments, I can also provide profiles for other hose sizes. This insert also makes it easy to clean the filter.

I used white PETG to improve the durability. But I'm confident that PLA should work out fine, especially if not placed in direct sun.

Hello, I have just uploaded the print profile It will probably take a few more minutes until it is verified and published Let me know if it fits the hose I have also adjusted the height of the main part This saves some print time and filament Should you have already printed the other parts, I can also set the hose insert to its original height

i really like the thought you put into this design. my usage case is to bring water from above from the roof woth a large gutter so I would need a version which does not have the opening for hose and the internal bowl and the perimeter both have walls all around. Would you have time to create such a version?

Do you want two sections at all (so you have fine filtering as long as nothing is blocked? What diameter has your pipe? I guess it's very minor effort to design it, but I don't like to print it (which is needed to upload the printprofile). I could provde a link to the adapted design in onshape. If you dont have a (free) onshape account I also might upload it to github.

i really appreciate if you can do it, yes i really like your design with the two concentric circles as i lost water to clogged filters before so completely understand the rationale. i dont have pipe coming in but a piece of gutter coming at an angle from the top so just full circles should work with no space for pipe. if you can share the design I’d print it and share the print profile. i started experimenting with fusion but i would be happy to create new account or download from whatever works for you
