Dimensions

As a reference, the aquarium constellation has dimensions of approximately 11x9 cm. The thickness is 2.5 mm. However, all parts can be enlarged or rescaled with a scale in the XY or XYZ plane in your slicer.

How to print the pieces

It is recommended to print a light base of white filament first and only print the last layers with the glow in the dark filament. Depending on the chosen layer, it is possible to print with the glow in the dark filament only the stars or also the connections and designs of the constellations. We recommend placing them on a dark surface to create contrast with the printed pieces.

The pieces shown in the photos were printed with 4 layers with white PLA as reflective base and the following up to layer 17 with transparent PLA glow in the dark. Layer height of 0,2 mm.

The first white layers reflect the light from the glow filament in front, conceal the background to which they are glued and give the pieces sturdiness without using too much glow-in-the-dark filament. Even just 2-3 layers of 0.2 mm glow in the dark gives a very good effect.

It can be a good alternative to print the first layers white and only the stars yellow.

The constellations can be enlarged through the settings of your 3D slicer to obtain larger or smaller sizes or different scales.

Notice

The designs and connections of the stars in the constellations are not standard and may vary from star chart to star chart.

Prolonged use of the glow-in-the-dark filament may erode the extruder due to its abrasiveness. Inform yourself and equip yourself with the right equipment, extruder etc. suitable for the filament.

Hi @H8es31 ! I'm sorry, but the Felis constellation is not included in my models. There are several star atlases with different conventions and constellations depending on who compiled the atlas. Although I don't have this constellation in my models, you can try downloading the model and using the dimensions already used to create your own Felis constellation, using an image of the constellation and measurements already used for the other models as a reference. There are many free and easy-to-use CAD programs that allow you to do this, such tinkercad or Fusion360 FreeCAD, etc. My personal goal is to create all the constellations of the northern and southern hemispheres and also add those constellations that have been lost over time or are no longer present in modern atlases. Updates may follow in the coming months. Thank you for your interest If you liked the model, please consider giving it a like👍 and boosting🚀 the model to support future updates and improvements. Hi @IUarQ , This sounds like a problem related to the filament you are using or the printing plate you are using and not the printing profile. Are you sure you are using PLA and using a print plate that is suitable for this material? Are you sure the temperatures selected are correct? Did you calibrate the plate before printing? Check in the print profile what plate and selected and compare with the one you are using and if so adjust the settings. If you are not using PLA, a smooth plate, if the plate is not calibrated, the temperatures are not correct can happen Check these things well and try again. Hoping to have been of help, regards Elektrooon 🦝
