Description
An elegant solution for crafting tensioning devices for diverse applications!
I designed these components to equip a scaffolding system with tensioning cables, safeguarding our tomato plants this summer from toppling or breaking under heavy loads or strong winds.
The carabiner comprises three parts.
The threaded bolt, split into two halves, accommodates a 5mm diameter tensioning cable.
As the wing nut compresses the two bolt halves, with the cable nestled in the designated groove, the necessary pressure is generated to firmly secure the cable within the device.
I 3D-printed the parts using PA6-CF and can attest to the construction’s surprisingly high strength.
