Plant Watering Bird – Self-Watering Helper
Print Profile(5)

Description
Keep your plants happy even when you're away! This charming bird slowly releases water into the soil through its ultra-thin base, providing hydration over 12–24 hours (depending on soil type). Ideal for indoor/outdoor pots and tropical plants that prefer consistent moisture as well as plants in the garden.
The porous base design uses the natural micro-permeability of thin 3D-printed walls to gently drip water into the soil—no electronics, no hassle.
💧 How to Use:
- Fill the bird's back with clean water.
- Insert into soft soil near the plant.
→ For older or densely rooted plants, pre-make a hole with a stick to avoid damaging roots or the bird. - The bird will slowly water your plant over time.
Refill as needed—usually every 1–2 days.
🧵 Material Suggestions:
- PLA is perfect for this print! Its micro-permeability at thin walls is the key to the slow-drip effect.
- No supports required; use standard 0.2mm layer height for best results.
- Light colors help monitor water level more easily.
Note: I was inspired for the shape of the upper part by a similar plant watering gadget in my garden.
