Description

This is a spacer for the RetroSix CleanJuice GG, to act as a mounting panel for the USB-C charging port in the space where the DC barrel jack port was originally on the Sega Game Gear.

The 3D-printed spacer that RetroSix provided with my CleanJuice GG kit was weak and broke before long, so I modelled this part as a replacement and made a few improvements over the original design.

  • The original piece was little more than a simple collar/sleeve over the USB port, so could be prone to slipping off if the friction-fit is weak.  My version extends the top piece to hook over the back of the port, so there's no chance that this thing will fall out by itself.
  • The part is tilted so that the outside panel more closely aligns with the contour of the Game Gear.
  • Extra thickness to the collar giving it more strength, reducing the chance of a break.

The CleanJuice GG mod can be purchased from RetroSix at www.retrosix.co.uk (in the UK) or www.retrosix.us in the USA.  Also from www.silentmodding.com and www.retroreiz.de in the EU.
