Description

These 3D-printable Snap Cubes are compatible with other 2 x 2cm commercial snap cubs/number cubes used in classrooms for maths, counting, and creative play. They snap together with a firm but satisfying click and can be pulled apart easily, making them perfect for little hands!

I’ve created 3 different variants with the classic 1-male snapping ring, and added a 2-male and a 3-male design to allow strength and new designs not possible with the original 1-male commercial designs.

I've also added a Base Plate which I've not found commercially.

(Please note - the photo with the little house and tree had a mix of commercial and these own 3D printed cubes, to show compatibility)

Nice!! Thans for the design. Printed several 2-male and 1-male blocks for my 5 year old kid. They git nicely with the originals. I found the corners to be too sharp, so I would suggest a new version rounding the corners slightly.

Printed the plate. It was perfect on my A1. It fit my Mathlink Blocks super tight but I'm sure with play between grandchild and myself it will be well enjoyed. Already planning at least 1 more plate.

Hi, thank you really appreciate the comment and boost! You're right, it is tight - this has the advantage that taller structures built on it are nice and secure, however, I'll see if I can make one that's a little less tight.

That would be awesome. Little hands and my arthritic ones would much appreciate it very much

I've only printed a few colours of these so far (trying to match the "numberblocks" colours" - and I'm up to "5" so far), and my son *absolutely loves them*! I found a couple of other designs that didn't quite work for me (harder to print, didn't link well, etc.), but these are great. I struggled to find a "face plate" that would fit nicely with these models though, but then I realised - your base plate is 100 of them! I cut out a 1x1 and it worked perfectly. :)

how did you cut them? I’m running into the same problem.

Hmm... tried to find the files I made, but not sure what I did with them. I just used the "cut" tool within Bambu Studio. I guestimated a little (judging mostly by look to get it in the middle), but if you want to get really accurate it'll let you put in specific measurements. You'll need two cuts - one to cut off a 10x1 strip, then another to cut a single block from that strip. Alternatively, convince @user_30414997 to upload one ;)

I did, and tried with the official "number block" When I have more time I'm going to try again because they really looked great. It has to be something on my end. It wouldn't even snap on the plate. I will absolutely try again.

Hi Daduncan43, please make sure that you select the 'profile' for the 2nd block rather than the 1st block. It can be easier to do on a computer rather than a phone.

great print other than they don't stack.

Hi JenntheRaven, thanks for the review and boost - really appreciate it! They should stack, as in, all 6 sides should work. Are you removing all the support from the base? Plyers work well with a twist to pull it out!

I printed 10. 8/10 were great. the rest were stringy. not sure why.

Very glad to hear, thanks for the comment! :) A little bit of stringiness can be normal for pla and petg. My experience is that if I've not dried my filament then it increases the stringiness (especially for PETG).
