Thread Cutter for 45mm Rotary Blade
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is an accessory for sewers and quilters that uses a 45mm rotary cutter blade to make a stationary thread cutter. Its most commonly used in quilting to cut strings of sewn pieces apart more quickly than using scissors.
NOTE: If you need a cutter for a 60mm rotary blade, see my model HERE
With the exception of the blade itself, the entire unit is 3D printed. No need for other hardware. The bolt is 3D printed and the case, which doubles as the stand, has a threaded closure.
To assemble, place the blade in the back half of the flower shaped holder, cover the blade with the front half of the flower shaped holder and thread in the bolt. Be careful not to cross-thread the bolt the first time you screw it in. I recommend just tightening by hand, so you don't over tighten, but there is a slot in the bolt that fits a penny or dime if needed. This assembled unit slides in the top slot of the holder for use or lays down in the holder for storage/travel.
