Description
TPU Mold for Casting the Winged Human-Headed Bull (Lamassu) – First Prototype
Description:
This is a flexible mold 3D printed in TPU, used to cast plaster replicas of the winged human-headed bull (Lamassu) from the palace of Sargon II at Dur-Sharrukin, currently housed in the Louvre Museum.
The original 3D model was sourced from MyMiniFactory:

This is an early-stage prototype, and the mold is split into three interlocking parts. While it allows for a full casting, several imperfections remain:
- The head is thin and may break easily during demolding.
- The surrounding architectural features (tiles and wall fragments) are prone to damage when removing the cast.
- The tolerances between mold parts still need refinement, which can leave visible lines or seams on the surface of the cast
