Description
Design Concept
This is only a remix in the sense that I modified the Gridfinity Refined - Minimal system created by EricD on Printables. I really like his take on Gridfinity. This allows those who have purchased a Lexington Utility Cart from Michael's to store their items in the Gridfinity Refined storage system within the cart.
Printing Recommendations
I have only attempted to print this in Sunlu PLA. I have no doubt that it would work great with Bambu PLA as well.
Assembly Instructions
I initially had issues with my test models as I didn't make the holes wide enough to fit my original design idea for securing the grid to the cart. I cut 30mm lengths of Cat5 cable, removed the outer sheathing to reveal the individual sheathed strands. I left the individual conductor strands sheathed. I would suggest curving the Cat5 first and match then ends to ensure they are equal. Next, slide an individual Cat5 strand through both holes at the same time, if possible, and pull it tight underneath the shelf before twisting it like a bread twist tie. After securing the Cat5, I would suggest using something to flatten the tops of the Cat5 that lives inside the bin. This will allow your Gridfinity items to nestle into their spots as expected. In my original testing I made the anchor points too tall and it somewhat interfered with my boxes nestling in correctly.
In hindsight, it may have been better to add a way to secure the grid with zip ties. But, I doubt this would fit the small grid with the low clearance available.
