How to Use the Mold – Step-by-Step Instructions:
The shape is complex so follow the steps to avoid cavities and release the mold without issues.
- Print in Petg to avoid warping due to wax high temperatures
- Prepare the Mold
- Clean both halves of the mold to ensure no debris or leftover prints.
- Lightly coat the interior with a mold release spray or neutral oil (like canola or mineral oil) to help with easy demolding.
- Insert the Wick
- add the candle wick. if you have wicks with bases, put some double tape on the bottom of the wick to keep it in place.
- Melt and Pour the Wax
- Melt your wax slowly.
- Pour the wax gently into the mold. Pouring in two stages is required to avoid empty cavities.
- Gently tilt the mold forward and backward a few times; this helps the melted wax flow into small cavities (like under the deck or around the cabin) and pushes out any trapped air bubbles.
- Tap the mold lightly to release air bubbles.
- Let It Set
- Allow the candle to cool at room temperature for at least one or two hours.
- You can place it in the fridge for faster cooling, but avoid the freezer to prevent cracking.
- Demold with Care
- Open the mold slowly and remove the candle gently.
- Trim the wick and clean any rough edges if needed.
Now you’ve got a custom Benchy candle—ready to light up your celebrations or just brighten your shelf.
