D6x2 mm Round Magnet (20PCS) - CA004

Description

A Holder for 35mm film negatives when scanning with Epson Perfection V700 or V800 series scanners.

In the UK and don't have a 3D Printer but want one anyway? Check HERE

Comes in 2 Variants:

Full Size - 6 Full 35mm Frames, requires 300x300 build plate or larger

Stubby - 4 Full 35mm Frames, requires 235x235 or larger build plate (ender 3 or bigger)

Should be printed in Black filament, PLA is fine.

Filament is used for the hinge of the holder and 8x 6x2mm magnets are used to keep the film in place. (same size as gridfinity)

The film sits at the optimal height for a sharp image and aligns with the focus of the scanner well.

The magnets on the end of the holder as well as the hinges ensure that the film is held flat, while the hinge tolerance is such that the film can go underneath for scanning a whole roll without cutting it.

This holder allows for roll scanning without cutting the film, so you can keep APS films in the canister for storage. Just ensure to load the film from behind the hinge as the 3D Printed layer lines may make it difficult to load from the front and damage your film if you try to push too hard.

Works excellently and has been tested with Epson V700 Photo / Epson V750 Pro / Epson V800 Photo / Epson V850 Pro flatbed film scanners.

Excellent model. Doesn’t work with my scanner though…

Which scanner do you have? I've used it with my V700 and the results have been good in my experience. (Photo scanned with this holder)

Some Brother something or other. None of this is your fault. Apparently the scanner I have doesn’t focus beyond the plane of the glass. The film would have to be touching the glass and in your frame it does not. I’m now looking for a second hand Epson…

yeah that'd be it lol, correct me if I'm wrong but afaik brother don't make film scanners with a backlight which you need to do film scanning and the Epson scanners with the backlight have a 2nd sensor which focuses above the glass for film scanning and a normal sensor which focuses on the glass for document scanning.
