Boosts are Smart For Two
I added a rear view mirror camera to my Smart ForTwo because the little mirror has a terrible field of view. The rear view camera I chose was a generic thing from Amazon but I have installed several and they are mostly the same. They include a front and rear dashcam function as well which is a really good idea.
Installation involved removing some inner trim to pull the wire to the camera. I did not drill any holes as I was able to snake the camera wire around the plastic trim of the car. I removed the third brake light to get to the area where the wire comes in.
This addition has drastically improved my enjoyment of the car. It makes backing up a breeze.
I did have to try several times to get the proper position where the rear wiper would not hit the camera.
I used 3M VHB to stick this in place about a year ago. I also printed in PLA thinking I would replace it when it failed but it is still holding up.
