This model is merely a modification/improvement of another model. I added two extra compartments to house all my colors, and also swapped the screw (which should be an M2 screw but was far too small for my M2 screws) for a piece of filament.
The 4-compartment version is still available, of course.
The original version mentions magnets, but I didn't need them.
I printed it in PETG HF, but I assume it prints perfectly in PLA.
REQUIRED
The only part required is a spring to raise the tab for inserting and removing one of the compartments. According to the original model, the dimensions are not critical, but I personally used a 0.016x0.2x0.39" (0.4x5x10mm) which works perfectly for this purpose.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the end of the wire into one side of the butterfly (to secure it), then insert this butterfly into the circles (flat side outwards) to assemble the rotating part.
- Pass the wire from inside the compartment through the smallest opening (by inserting the rotating part), then secure it with the bar that extends from the compartment.
- Clip the lid in place by first positioning the tabs and pressing gently until you hear a click.
- Position the spring in the circle drawn on the top of the compartment, then insert the tab, starting from that side.
- Take a piece of filament, push it firmly until it stops (rotate it if necessary) to get an idea of where to cut (it doesn't matter much).
- Pull the filament out slightly to cut it to the desired size, then push it back in using pliers, for example (crushing it once inserted is not a problem).
