The first Type 072 tank landing ship was built in 1978, and later developed into various models such as 072II, 072III, 072A, and 072B Currently, there are 32 in active service, including 15 Type 072A ships

This model is of the Type 072A Tianzhushan ship, launched in 2003, with a length of over 120 meters, a width of over 16 meters, and a full-load displacement of 4800 tons

Regarding the draft, there are two figures online: 3.2 meters and 2.8 meters Given that tank landing ships need to beach themselves and deploy ramps, I think the shallower the draft, the better And since the 072A is relatively new, I chose the 2.8-meter data to make the model

The model is about 60mm long and about 8mm wide, smaller than the 054A

Added a Type 072B Culaishan ship, the A and B types mainly differ in some details

The model is very small I made the lines as small as 0.2mm during modeling, and a 0.4 nozzle still requires using Arachne walls to print Printing with PETG doesn't yield good results, PLA is recommended If conditions allow, a 0.2 nozzle would yield much better results

The hull and bottom are still connected by magnets, with 4x2 magnets for the hull and 4x1 magnets for the bottom But I still created a beached mode with the 072A bow open, and even a 99A tank on the ramp, although it printed out as a blob 🤣 I have provided models in two states in my print profile, everyone is welcome to print according to their needs

Finally, here's a comparison of several active landing ships I can't help but marvel at how fast the country has developed in the past 20 years, and how strong the Chinese navy has become
