Description
This is version 2 of my remix originally posted on thingiverse. The original model requires a lot of glue to be held together. This remix features a lot of improvements, such as being assembled with common M3 hardware, a working hood that latches with magnets, an electronics bay with a cutout for a switch and plenty of room for a big battery, some reinforced parts and a big focus on making this easy to print and assemble.
Required Hardware
- 16x M3x8mm
- 4x M3x10mm
- 3x M3x10mm (button head; flat head; or any low-profile head)
- 2x M3x12mm
- 8x M3x14mm
- 5x M3 locknuts
Optional Hardware
- 2x 6x3mm magnets (for the hood latch)
- 2x 5mm LEDs (for headlights)
- 2x M2.5x3mm pan head screws (for electronic switch)
Required RC Products
You will need a compatible RC chassis, here are four options:
- 1:16 Truck/Crawler 4x4 RC Chassis. This chassis is 100% compatible and requires no modifications.
- This C14/C24 chassis, with the low profiles shocks from this model. (The stock shocks are too tall). Aftermarket shocks requires lots of modifications. Also needed is this Front Axle servo mount kit.
- A full metal aftermarket chassis. Aftermarket shock absorbers (with bracket) are short enough.
- 1:16 Truck/Crawler Flexible Rolling Chassis. This is a non-RC chassis and is 100% compatible and requires no modifications.
notes:
- You will also need an ESC, a receiver and a battery.
- The electronics bay switch cutout will fit a SS12F15 switch, which some ESC come with.
- Optionally get an RC switch for controlling the headlights.
- The camera featured in the video is this “only 3.6g fpv vtx-cam”.
- The battery mount will fit two straps up to 18mm wide. I've used these velcro straps.
- The engine bay will fit a generous battery like this 2S battery pack. I'm using these HRB 2200mah packs.
- These are the wheels & tires I'm using
Assembly
This short video covers assembling the body. It doesn't cover assembling the frame nor the electronics.
