UPDATED! Ergonomic VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Hats and Analogues Set V1.1

This thoughtfully designed set of ergonomic hats and analogue caps is tailored for the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO series — reimagining thumb input for barehanded comfort, not combat-ready gloves.

In the sim community, many joystick designs mimic real fighter jet layouts — but let’s be real: we don’t fly in gloves. This set challenges that norm with ergonomics designed for direct tactile control, giving you smooth, intuitive thumb movement and better feel, without sacrificing functionality or precision.

What’s Included:

Hat Switch Caps

  • 2 x Large 20mm Hats with engraved arrows
  • 2 x Ergo Analogue / Hat One – 20mm
  • 2 x Ergo Analogue / Hat One – 18mm
  • 2 x Ergo Analogue / Hat One – 16mm
  • 2 x Ergo Analogue Two – 20mm
  • 2 x Ergo Analogue Two – 18mm
  • 2 x Ergo Analogue Two – 16mm
  • 2 x Ergo Mini Analogue – 16mm

Stalks

  • 4 x 12mm
  • 4 x 10mm
  • 4 x 8mm
  • 4 x 6mm

NEW Hat Switch Caps V1.1

  • 2 x Ergo Hat Two – 20mm
  • 2 x Ergo Hat Two – 18mm
  • 2 x Ergo Hat Two – 16mm

Tip: Use the shorter 8-10mm stalks for hat switches and longer stalks for analogues to maximise thumb control and comfort. The 6mm stalk has been provided, just in case, but will likely be too short for anything.

Assembly Instructions

Each stalk inserts into its respective cap via a snug friction fit. Use needle nose pliers if needed for extra grip. Superglue is optional, depending on whether you want a more permanent assembly.

The stalk-to-joystick fit is tuned for secure yet non-destructive insertion, ideal for users who plan to swap and test frequently without risking wear on the joystick.

While the stalks may feel loose to install and remove, I've yet to have them fall off even with holding upside down and shaking.

To align the arrows on the large 20mm hat, you can simply twist it with care, in place, after installation.

Designed for Sim Gamers, Not Jet Pilots

Most modern flight stick buttons are built with military inspiration — stiff, angular, and glove-friendly because that's what we, as buyers, expect. But that ironically comes at the cost of ergonomics. This set is designed for barehanded use — the kind of comfort and control we should expect.
