Description

I own a Flir ONE lightning thermal imaging camera. It worked great with my old iPhone 13 (and any other iPhone with a lighting connector), but didn't work with my new iPhone 16 Pro, which came with a USB C connector.

To use the Lighting version of the Flir ONE with an iPhone 15 or newer requires the official Apple USB C to Lightning adapter:

This holder was designed to work with an iPhone 15 or 16, including the Pro in a case. My case is this one, but several others have been tested and work well. Any case that is approximately 76mm wide and less than 12.1mm thick should work.

To use it, slide the thermal camera in the case, plug in the adapter cable, and slide your phone in the top. That's it!

You can access the power button and USB C recharge port on the bottom of the Flir device through the cutouts in the case:

I like the idea but I have a FLIR One Pro and it won't fit in this adaptor. The Pro has squarish corners which the curves in the slot prevent it from fitting.

Can you take a few measurements of your device? Here's a version with squared off corners to test if you'd like. Let me know how things line up; I don't have a Pro device to test. The dimensions are 67.8mm x 14.1mm x 34mm. If you look at the photo you will see the problem is the profile of the corners. I will try the test version.

The test version is too tight on the inside. I managed to force the FLIR in because of the rubber edges but I had to cut it back out as it was stuck. I scaled the X dimension of model so the inside size between the sides went from 67.5mm to 68.175mm, see photo. The FLIR now fitted fairly tightly.

I'm going to see if I can make something like this for my Seek thermal camera. I just found out that it also works with the Apple Lightning to USB-C adapter, but of course the bendy cable means the camera points wherever it wants.
