Description
This is a modular rack for filament spools. It is characterized by the fact that the spools or filament boxes are stored vertically. The system is optimized for the following features:
- suitable for spools, spools in vacuum bags, and filament boxes
- economical (123 g per rack) yet robust, thanks to optimized shape and force distribution throughout the rack
- easy unloading thanks to clearance at the front
- modular and all snap-fit (no screws)

The internal dimensions of a single rack are 72 x 210 x 225 mm (width x depth x height). A single rack is already stable, but stability increases when connected. The single rack is printed in two parts. The two parts can be easily snapped together. After that, the assembled racks can be stacked on top of each other and they lock into place. The lid is only placed on the topmost rack. Laterally, the racks can be connected with four small connectors each (also printed). No screws are needed.
If you want to build the racks tall, it is important that they have enough lateral support. You can easily achieve this by also extending and connecting the rack horizontally.
An assembled rack can be carefully separated, but it should be avoided. To separate stacked racks, each corner must be carefully pulled straight up, one after another. Laterally connected racks can be easily separated by holding one down and pushing the other upwards along the sidewall. This frees up the connectors.
