  • Since I started 3D printing, I've been searching for a perfect, multi-functional enclosure, but haven't found one.
  • During my search, I discovered many exceptional designs and concepts from talented creators, leading me to the idea of combining these excellent works into a single, exceptionally aesthetically pleasing enclosure.
  • I designed a single-spool version, which received widespread acclaim from friends. After a month of refinements, this multi-spool, sealed enclosure was born.

 

【Key Features】

  • Rotary Axis Functionality: Provides a functional equivalent to the AMS Lite rotary axis, enabling automated filament retraction with the AMS.
  • Manual Filament Retraction Functionality: Filament can be retracted via a hand-operated shaft on the front of the enclosure, eliminating the need to open it.
  • Spool-less Functionality: The automatic retraction mechanism and spool are integrated into a single component, the spool measuring 180mm, printable on an A1 mini. This minimizes the enclosure's size and eliminates the need to search for spools when using spoolless filament.
  • RFID Functionality: The enclosure includes slots for the RFID coil and wiring, allowing the transplantation of the AMS Lite's RFID system for spool identification.

     

【Design Notes】:

  1. The enclosure's color scheme employs a Bambu Labs grey palette, using official PLA in 10104 light grey and 10105 dark grey.
  2. The enclosure frame is cleverly subdivided, allowing for successful printing even on an A1 mini, while enhancing aesthetic appeal.
  3. The enclosure utilizes a large, integrated hinge printed in one piece, ensuring smooth, effortless operation and high strength. It's crucial to position the hinge vertically during printing; this prevents layer lines from affecting smoothness and enhances the hinge's aesthetics.
  4. Required accessories are as follows (quantities double for a dual-bin, quad-spool configuration):

    ①. Screws: 16 x M4 screws, 8-10mm in length;

    ②. Bearings: 2 x 608zz bearings, 4 x 106zz bearings (3D printed bearings can be substituted);

    ③. Wave Washers: 2 x M3 x 4 x 0.5;

    ④. Compression Springs: 2 x 0.8mm diameter wire, 9mm outer diameter, 5 coils, 180° right-hand thread;

    ⑤. Pneumatic Fittings: 2 x PC4-M6 through-hole pneumatic fittings;

    ⑥. Acrylic: 2 x 50mm x 100mm x 1.5mm acrylic sheets.
