AMS 2 “Feed Saver” - This is the AMS 2 version of my popular AMS Feed Saver.  We all know the AMS 2 is an engineering marvel. However, the infamous feeder funnel in the original AMS caused much concern when it comes to longevity. Simply put, it was wearing on the edges of the feeder filament entry forcing a potentially expensive replacement of the AMS First Stage Feeder. This AMS 2 “Feed Saver” will not only protect you from this potentially expensive reality, it will also properly align the filament to reduce the likelihood of feed and pullback errors. All this for about a dollar in filament for a set of four!  NOTE: This is not one of those “buttons” that are known to fall off during printing.  These “snap” securely on the body of the feeder.  Literally, you'll hear a crisp “snap” when installing them.  No glue or crazy stuff like that. Easy to install without concerns it will come off.  Don't settle for anything less.

  • Protects the feed funnel from premature wear and replacement
  • Snaps on securely using a wrap-around design - Will NOT come off during a print like some other feeder solutions

Installation

  1. Cut the PTFE tubes to 32mm
  2. Install the PTFE tube to the base of the Feed Saver PTFE holder
  3. Slide the Feed Saver onto the top of the Feeder and push it back
  4. Push down on the rear of the Feed Saver until you hear the satisfying “snap”
