Inspired by the lightboxes from @Scubafan, I created my own, named after the city of Stuttgart.

The lightbox front comes in two versions:

  • completely enclosed
  • prepared with holes for a 12V DC jack (8mm diameter) and a mini toggle switch (19.2mm x 13.2mm). Suitable jacks and switches can be found online, for example on Amazon or AliExpress

The back features two screw holes for wall mounting. However, the lightbox can also simply be placed on a surface.

I integrated an SMD LED strip with 120 LEDs/m into the lightbox and soldered it to the jack and switch. The back can then be easily snapped on or, if necessary, additionally glued. To operate it, you will also need a 12V plug for the power outlet.
