For Working in Confined Spaces

When working in confined environments, people require short, manageable bit drivers which can apply considerable force despite their size. The Stubby short screwdriver is the ideal solution for such conditions.

Things to note:

  • I've noticed some bits are bigger or smaller than the standard. The driver is sized to work with most but may be tight for some and loose for others. To assist with this, there is a printed detent in the head to hold on to the loose bits.
  • The print profile includes Fuzzy Skin. If you prefer it without you can un-check the option in the slicer or simply use the raw file and slice it to your liking. Just note, the fuzzy skin is constrained by a separate body in the object list to accurately limit the skin to a specific area.

Give it a shot!

Optional feature:

  • Magnet - The design has a built in 6mm x 2mm magnet cavity. If you choose to use it, you will need to add a pause layer 208. This is done by going to the slicer and slicing the file. Once sliced, use the right side scroll bar that allows you to see the various layers individually and move it down to the 208th layer. Once at that layer, right click the small “+” icon on the layer scroll bar and select “Add Pause”. And the re-slice the file. You can then send the file to the printer and when the printer finishes layer 208 it will pause and stay heated until you install the magnet in the cavity. PLEASE use a drop of super glue to keep the magnet from sticking to the nozzle, and don't start it until the glue is holding well enough to stay in place.

Great design, I printed a bunch to use with my hex drivers. It takes some force to snap in and then they're pretty secure. But you can still pull them out. I removed the fuzzy surfacing before printing

Yeah, sorry if I didn't mention the fuzzy skin. Super easy to change but it useful to know about it to decide if you want it or not.

Would it be terribly difficult to change this to allow different size magnets? I have 9.5x2.5 magnets and the included magnets from the starter kit Bambu supplies. They are 3.96x1.98. It's just what I have, so figured I'd ask.. I appreciate this design and have already rated it 5 stars. Thank you
