License Plate Holder (4-Hole)

License Plate Frame Template – FDM-Optimized with Hex Dowel Connectors

This is a 3D-printable license plate frame template designed to fit standard California plates (12” x 6”). The frame is split for easy printing on most FDM machines and uses hexagonal dowel connectors for seamless alignment and strong post-print assembly.

🧩 Assembly Notes

• Parts are aligned using built-in hex dowel joints (4.0mm size, 5.0mm depth ratio, 0.10mm tolerance)

• Dowels are easy to print and provide a clean, click-fit style connection

• I recommend gluing it all together.

• I've attached my 3mf file to see how to lay it out – but I've performed the cut already, my recommendation is customizing with text/logo etc first, then cut, then paint (if your heart desires)

• Layer height: 0.2mm

• Material: PLA or PETG

• Supports: None required

• Infill: 15–25%

• Nozzle: 0.4mm

• Build plate: At least 210x210mm recommended, or use diagonal positioning for smaller printers
