A step-by-step assembly guide is attached to the end of this description.  This is for the Piano Music Box Hand Winding Kit – K015, as sold by Bambu Lab (shown below). You can find the model for the other kit on my page.

Quick assembly video

Customisation

You have the choice of three horns for your gramophone. In the print profile, you will find three plates for each one. The correct connector is also included on the same plate.

In the assembly guide, each part is given a unique letter. These match those found in the print profile in Bambu Studio. You can move pieces from other plates onto the same plate, just make sure to leave a gap around some of the pieces to leave space for the supports.

Filament

PLA Wood Rosewood (13204) was used for the lid, box, platter, and crank handle.

PLA Metal Iridium Gold Metallic (13400) was used for the horn on the main photo, along with other pieces. This is the best option to replicate the brass of real gramophones.

PLA Metal Iron Gray Metallic (13100) was used for the record. PLA Basic Black (10101) would look more realistic due to its shiny appearance, but I didn’t have any laying around.

PLA Silk+ Silver (13109) was used for the main arm (Part J) and other small pieces (Parts K and L). This was used for the horn also.

For best print quality

Make sure that your printer has been recently calibrated and you have carried out the Flow Dynamics Calibration. Print the horn separately and at a standard print speed to reduce stringing. Made for 0.4 mm nozzle.

Wonderful print! I had the best time making this with my daughter. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Detailed, gorgeous print with detailed assembly instructions. I was delighted to see how the music box crank could fit through the housing, but only if you flip it upside down first. That was such a fun moment for us putting it together. She's 8 and its the first time she's assembled something with screws by herself. This was a big moment for her that will be a core memory of building things with her dad. Thank you 🙏

Brilliant design and a pleasure to display. Thank you for this elegant music box, which fitted together precisely. I sourced the winding mechanisms from China for a lot cheaper than the Bambu ones, and they had several tunes to choose from. One plays Fur Elise, the other Canon in D. The workings match the screw holes perfectly too. I am really impressed with your design, and the way each piece fits perfectly.

Thanks a lot. Its nice when someone appreciates the all the work that went into it. I did a lot of testing (photo) so the parts would fit together as nicely as possible, and changed the size of many pieces by as small as 0.01 mm to fine tune the fit. This was mainly to make sure that the horn and playing arm would not sag, as that would have spoiled the look. It also makes it more satisfying to put together. Did you have trouble with the small silver piece? I had to shave the bottom corner off (photo), as the seam line made it a bit difficult to fit.

Amazing dedication. But for sure it was worth it for this lovely item. Even the detail on the black disk is an example of how painstaking you are. Regarding the silver sliver - I got fed up with it and left it off, lol. I still have them, so will take your advice, but no-one knows if it should be there or not, so people I gift it to will never know!

So cool! Easy to print and assemble. Reminds me of one we had as a museum display at a hifi shop I worked in.
