Experience the fascination of Print-in-Place (PiP) with this fully functional, 3D-printed ball bearing!
This ball bearing is printed entirely in one piece – no assembly required! After printing, the inner rings and balls must be carefully released from the outer ring by removing the support structure (often a little turning and pressure is sufficient; otherwise, use a knife to loosen the structure). It is a fantastic example of what is possible with precise 3D printing and a useful component for countless projects.
The bearing rotates directly after printing, but for an incredibly smooth and fast rotation, a drop of lubricant works wonders! For a quick test and surprisingly good results, a tiny drop of olive oil from the kitchen is often sufficient! It runs REALLY extremely well with it.
