Description

A compact and travel-friendly foldable stool designed for toddlers and small children. Fully 3D printed with print-in-place hinges, this stool folds completely flat for easy storage and transport.

Features:

Print-in-Place Folding Legs – The 4-leg base folds and unfolds smoothly with built-in hinges. When opened, the legs automatically stop at 90°.

Folding Seat with Hinges – The seat folds in half via its own print-in-place hinges, reducing its footprint for travel or storage.

Tool-Free Assembly – Slide-in connector pins fit snugly into the leg base. The seat pressure-fits onto the pins: secure enough to sit on, yet easy to remove for folding or swapping.

Supports Adult Weight (Seated) – While sized for toddlers (seat height: 26 cm), it comfortably holds an adult up to at least ~80 kg when seated.
Note: This has not been rigorously tested — just personally tested by me.

Specs:

  • Seat height: 26 cm (leg base: 24 cm + seat: 2 cm)
  • Folds flat
  • Modular: Easily swap or reprint seat pieces as needed.

Notes:

  • Hinges may feel stiff fresh off the build plate:
    • Allow the print to cool fully before handling
    • Carefully wiggle the hinges loose by hand — they’ll move freely after a short while.
  • All parts have been specifically designed to print in their current orientation.
  • A carefully tuned print profile is included, optimized for 0.2 mm layer height.
⚠️ Using different orientations, layer heights, or drastically different support settings may result in failed prints — especially around the hinges.
  • While you can adjust settings like wall count, infill percentage, or infill pattern depending on your material and strength needs,
please note: you do so at your own risk.
  • Do not scale the model down — it was not designed for resizing, and doing so may lead to hinge failure or improper fitment.

Thinking about releasing a smaller version (approx. 20–22 cm tall, when assembled) that fits the Bambu A1 Mini.
If you’d be interested in that, I’d love your feedback in the comments!
