Description

Overview

This model prints in PLA and PETG with 4 filament changes, and takes 1 hour to print. It uses PETG's inability to adhere to PLA to create multiple 1-layer surfaces, which improves flight. When fully prepared and thrown properly, it can glide smoothly in a straight line.

Assembly

Take the glider off the build plate after allowing it to cool.

Flip the glider over. You'll notice a PLA sticker on each wing.

Bend a wing slightly to start releasing its sticker, and peel the sticker off. Repeat 4x.

Discard of the stickers and flip over the plane. You'll notice a tab on each wing.

Pull the tab down to start peeling the wings apart. When the wings are fully apart, bend them to the angle shown. (The bottom wing in the first image is affected by the ground, bend according to image 2.)

Use the same process for the back wings. Then fold each tab up around 45 degrees with your thumb and index finger.

Your glider should look like this in the end.

Throwing Guide

After tuning your glider to look like the final photo, it's time to start throwing. With your hand below the glider(side with tabs facing up), place your thumb in front of the main wing, and your middle and index fingers behind the main wing. Then push forward with medium force and release the glider.

This is how you would throw the glider if right-handed.

Make sure that you throw with the tab side facing up.

If the glider does not fly well, make sure that the wings are straight, adjust the angle between wings, adjust the angle of the tabs, or adjust your throwing method.
