Description

Angle Finding Jig for the (Lee Valley) Veritas Side-Clamping Honing Guide for chisels and plane blades. This jig uses an adjustable block that is fixed in place with positive stops for each angle. Simple untighten the screw, adjust the block to your desired angle, tighten the screw, and push your chisel/plane blade edge against the block and lock the blade in the honing guide. Bottom tabs included to let you register your guide securely against a workbench or table.

Upper Location (25°-40°) and Lower Location (20°-35°) stops have been included and should be within ±1 degrees of the indicated angle. The Upper location angles are labelled on the right of the jig. Lower location angles are labelled on the left.

IMPORTANT: The sliding nut is print-in-place! You will need to press FIRMLY towards the top of the jig to release it and allow it to slide smoothly in the rails before assembly. Refer to the diagram below:

Printed in parts and some minor assembly required. Be sure to remove the brim from the body. Align the nut with the block using the screw. Refer to the diagram below.

PLA was sufficiently strong for regular use. For additional durability for the adjustable block, consider printing in PETG.
