Description
This is a material exploration, merging PLA and yarn.
The 3D-printed PLA provides a skeletal support, allowing the normally pliable yarn to maintain a fixed shape, creating various designs.

The model is the frame of a vase; manual yarn knitting is required to complete the final product.
There are many knitting methods; I used the simplest rattan weaving method:
Step One: Take two strands of yarn and tie them to two frames, then wrap them in and out alternately. First, wrap the first strand to complete one layer, then begin wrapping the second strand.

Step Two: After each frame is fully wrapped layer by layer, the top needs to be closed. Use the printed model's ring; thread both yarns through the ring, wrap them in and out alternately, and finally tie a knot to secure it.
As the yarn is woven layer by layer, there is an inward force that causes the originally straight frames to contract, reducing the radius of the top. You can shorten the ring by cutting it or measure the actual radius and reprint a new ring accordingly.

If the printed frame quality is poor (e.g., rough), don't worry; the yarn weaving will cover the entire frame.
