F1 Ferrari SF24 Race Car - 1:8 Scale Model

• Model Overview

  A 1:8 scale race car model, modeled and printed using the bburago 1:43 SF24 model as a prototype and reference images.

• Model Features

  1. Modular design for easy printing and assembly.

  2. Designed for FDM printing characteristics, employing minimal support structures and excellent support surface effects.

  3. Lightweight printing, the body can use lightning infill, significantly reducing print time.

   

• Modeling Details

  • This is the second-generation model, preceded by a Mercedes-Benz FW15 modeling project. This model builds upon that experience and foundation.

  

  • The entire project took a month. While imperfections remain, I gained invaluable experience in modeling techniques, approaches, and initial design concepts.

    

  • The 1:8 scale was chosen partly due to already owning a smaller model car. Also, I plan to incorporate mechanical structures, similar to the C44's 'snap-fit' design, to create a drivetrain, DRS linkage, and front-wheel steering system. This presents a significant challenge.

• Technical Details

  • Printing Material: Bambu High-speed PETG was used for this print, PLA can be tested independently (the difference in effect will not be significant), tolerance is sufficient.

                            Red filament: 530g, Black filament: 130g

  • Print Time: 25h 30min total
  • Print Settings: 0.2mm layer height, body using 15% lightning infill, other components using standard infill.
