A cute and whimsical egg tree. It makes a perfect decoration for Easter time. All parts are printed separately and connected together afterwards. You can store some small trinkets or candy in the cracked egg under the tree.

  • No Supports Needed.
  • No AMS Needed.
  • No Glue is necessary, unless you think things are loose.

Note: The tree does sit loosely on top of the cracked egg.

Make sure your print plate is clean. The tree branches are tall and skinny and might fall over during printing if the plate adhesion is poor. Leave the auto generated brim on to help hold the tree branches on the print plate better.

Assembly Instruction Video:

If the above video doesn't work, here are the steps:

  • With the grass seam to the left, the tree branch with the shorter branch goes to the right-side hole. Tallest branch goes in the middle (put the middle branch in last though). You have to push and twist a bit to get the tree branches in to the grass. The branch orders should match the picture below with the grass seam to the left.

  • Push and twist to get the eggs onto the smaller tree branches. Both big and small eggs can fit on any branch.
  • Note: The tree will sit loosely on top of the cracked egg.

My wife says I have too many trees; Christmas, Valentine's, St Patrick's Day,... and now Easter. Printing this was not difficult for me at all. I honestly pushed everything onto two beds and printed by object with an AMS. Grouping the colors together of course. Putting it together was a little challenging. I did end up breaking one trunk but just glued it back together, I plan on making a couple more anyway with different colors. The fitment was very tight. It was tight connecting the branches to the base but honestly that was nice because it held it very firmly. The eggs being tight on the branches was the challenging part, trying to put them on without twisting the layer lines apart. I think when I print this again I'm going to scale the eggs up just a little bit to get that hole a little bigger. Just a fraction of a millimeter would be perfect. I imagine if the Tolerance on your machine is dialed in, these wouldn't be an issue at all. Sorry for the long comment. Bottom line, this is a great print, and I'm definitely printing a couple more.

Number two worked so much better. Printed the eggs at 102% (snug) and 103% (slides on). Tried some super light fuzzy skin on the egg.. Not a big fan on how it turned out, I'd just keep it smooth next time. I'm having fun with this one.

Wonderful Easter Egg tree. I had a problem with the center (longest) branch. Two print failures in a row. I decided to slow the printer down (X1C) and it printed successfully. I was using Bambu PLA filament.

have made 2 of these now, no issues :) they're so cute! I did decide to glue the branches to the grass and grass to the egg for extra security

I really wanted to love this model, but the branches were very frustrating. I had many failed prints and finally added a bunch of supports, slowed the speed down and printed them individually. I still ended up having to lay the tall branch flat. After all that, one of the branches broke while putting the egg on, even though I was very careful. It's a cute tree, but not worth all the wasted filament and stress.

It took me 3 times to try to print the tall stick. It failed about 1/3 of the way through the top set of branches, as others have noted. I washed the build plate, upped the bed temp by 5C, restarted the print with just the tall stick, slowed down speeds to 100mm/s and added a tree support. It still failed. I went to the comments and saw someone recommend a 15mm brim so I did that, kept the increased bed temp and downed speeds event further to 50mm/s. That finally worked

Thank you for sharing the method that worked for you! I hope it helps others too. I didn't have any problems when I printed mines, so thank you for sharing.

I was so excited when I saw this. it was exactly what I have been looking for! Unfortunately, I can't get the tree branches to fit in the grass. I used .2 mm layer, 2 walls and 15% infill. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you watched the instruction assembly video above? With the grass seam to the left, the tree branch with the shorter branch goes to the right-side hole. Tallest branch goes in the middle (put the middle branch in last). You have to push and twist a bit to get the tree branches in to the grass. The branch orders should match the picture below with the grass seam to the left. Please let me know if that helped.
