Important findings on the use of de-icing salt: Some users have not had success spreading de-icing salt Breakage occurred in the drive unit The salt tends to clump because it absorbs a lot of humidity The spreader is unsuitable for damp and clumpy spreading material It is also possible that different de-icing salts are sold depending on the country I personally had no problems as I was able to spread relatively dry and free-flowing salt It is essential to ensure that the salt is stored dry and protected from humidity
