Description

**UPDATE 04/06/2025: I've added a PDF of assembly instructions for reference. There is no correct method of assembling this, but I figured this is the easiest

This design was inspired from a couple Amazon and Temu listings I saw on Google. I wanted to recreate a similar fully 3D-Printable version that had the same features, but also be just as strong/rigid. I've implemented an additional lock-in-place feature for additional security and rigidity in the unfolded position as well. There are tabs on the foldable portion that engages into slots under the top seat, this prevents it from unintentionally collapsing/moving while sitting on it.

This fully printed design consists of 20 pieces and is really straightforward to assemble. I've included a simple exploded view of the components as a reference for assembly. The hinge-pins are capped off with press-fit end caps. The foldable portion consists of a print-in-place hinge. In the fully open/unfolded position, the overall dimensions are 9.25in (L) X 9.25in (W) X 9.50in (H). In the folded position, the overall dimensions are 9.25in (L) X 2.13in (W) X 13.75in (H).

I have put this chair/stool through pretty extensive abuse (bouncing, sitting, standing on it) and it holds up extremely well. For reference, I weight approximately 200lbs (90kg). I'm confident this thing could hold upwards of 300lbs (135kg) or maybe even more.

You could use your own print profiles or the ones I've uploaded. I highly recommend printing the hinge pins with my print profile (horizontally and laid down) opposed to printing it vertically. With continued usage over time, the pins are more likely to shear in half if printed vertically, but up to you.

Let me know if you guys have any recommendations or feedback! :)
