Description

300 Movie-Inspired Spartan Sword (Leonid's Sword)

This design, inspired by the sword from 300: Battle of Thermopylae, has been optimized for 3D printing and easy post-processing.

Printing recommendations:

For Bambu Studio users, use the provided profile for optimal results.

Otherwise, follow the part orientation shown in the image.

  • Use glue stick for improved bed adhesion.
  • Utilize supports and rafts as needed.
  • Print with 3 perimeters for enhanced durability.
  • PLA is recommended for easy post-processing. PETG may be preferable for handguards for increased strength.
  • Two grip versions are available: "grip" for leather straps and "grip no leather" (larger) for use without straps.

Hardware (for best look):

  • 2x M3x20 or M3x25 mm screws.
  • 2mm thick leather straps.
  • Superglue
  • Putty
  • Sand paper
  • Primer spray
  • Spray paint

Assembly:

  1. Sand all parts for a smooth finish.
  2. Dry-fit the grip and handguards, then disassemble.
  3. Apply thin double-sided tape to both sides of the grip, leaving a 1cm border.
  4. Wrap leather straps, securing ends with super glue and trimming flush with the grip's edge.
  5. Glue the blade sections together and fill seams with putty. Sand smooth. Mask 1cm of the blade's base for gluing to the handguard.
  6. Prime all parts except the grip.
  7. Paint to your desired color.
  8. Attach the "front handguard" to the grip with two M3x25mm screws and super glue. Secure the "rear handguard" with super glue.
  9. Glue the blade to the handguard.
  10. Enjoy your finished sword!
