Description

AMS 2 Pro Sliding Rack - Bowtie Assembly Remix

A remix of the popular Dual AMS Sliding Rack - Bowtie Assembly with soft close drawer slides, now redesigned specifically for the new Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro! 

This design allows for efficient storage of two AMS units stacked on top of each other, perfect for tighter spaces while still ensuring full functionality with proper clearance for air intake and exhaust ports. If you have an original AMS and the AMS 2 Pro, simply print one tray from the original and one from here!

Good News for Existing Users! If you've already printed the original model, you only need to print the new trays! The frame itself hasn't been modified, so you can keep using your existing frame and just upgrade the trays to accommodate the AMS 2 Pro.

🔧 Key Improvements for AMS 2 Pro Compatibility

Redesigned trays specifically to fit the dimensions and mounting points of the new AMS 2 Pro.

Proper ventilation clearance ensuring the AMS 2 Pro's intake & exhaust vents are unobstructed.

Added handle to bottom tray for easier access and improved usability.

Various small tweaks to improve overall fit and functionality with the AMS 2 Pro.
 

Like the original design, this remix maintains the ability to open the lids for easy loading and unloading of filament spools, while providing a compact storage solution that maximizes your workspace efficiency.

🖨️ Printing Recommendations

I recommend printing in a higher temperature material like PETG, to make sure there's no deformation overtime when the AMS 2 Pro is drying filament.

Prints are large. So I'd recommend cleaning the build plate with soap and water between each print to prevent the parts from lifting.
 

🔄 Compatibility

This remix is specifically designed for the new AMS 2 Pro. The design ensures proper clearance for all ventilation ports, which is critical for the AMS 2 Pro's drying functionality. You can mix and match trays from the original design and this one if you have both versions of the AMS.

2 / 4 Sets of METAL MAGERY Lead Shot Balls #7.5 2lb Bag | To add even more counterweight, I filled the two bottom ones with one bag each (the bags are small but weigh a ton). Each 2-pound bag only fills it a little over halfway, so I filled the rest with sand, bringing the weight to 2.67 lb (1.21 kg) each. If you really wanted to, you could use four bags to add even more counterweight instead of filling the rest with sand—but it starts getting a bit pricey.

By filling each of the two bottom compartments with 2 pounds of lead shot and sand, and the top ones with sand, the system stays stable. Even if the bottom AMS is empty and the top one is fully loaded and extended, it won’t tip over!
