Description

VERSION 2 IS AVAILABLE - IMPROVEMENTS/FIXES/STORAGE - FOLLOW THIS LINK

DEPRICATED: I'm keeping this version online in case someone needs spare parts

--------------------------------------

Print instructions:

  • Print the parts you need.
  • Keep supports on for the Corner pieces, remove brim if you are confident in your build plate.
  • For a Corner, you need to print the Corner and 2 clips (one of each type).
  • For a Straight, you need to print the Straight and 2 clips (one of each type).
  • You do not need to print clips for the Connector pieces.
  • The clips are pressed into place as shown on the images.
    • Clips are designed to be put in at an angle.
    • Use a hard surface to press the clip an the piece together.

Usage Instructions:

The system has been designed for easy use if you follow these guides.

  • Assembly: When assembling your tiles, put on the Corners and the Straights first, then add Connectors afterwards.
  • Disassembly: When disassembling, remove the Connectors first.

If a clip should unexpectedly break during disassembly at a game night, you can easily replace it without having to print a new large piece.

My Retro Arcade DisplayPixel collection:

This is amazing work here! I just joined to ask you a question/provide some feedback. I have come across a couple of missions where tiles are meant to be placed off center of one another (see picture I attached as an example of a mission from the Washington DZ expansion set). Is it possible to add the ability to handle this scenario to your design? Looks like you would need half length black connectors and inside corners (opposite from the current outside corners you already have). This would allow your edge system to support just about any map design/layout I have come across!

Hi. Thanks for the comment and praise! I'll give it a go and see what I can come up with.

Oh I just looked at your STL files and realized you already have an inverted corner! So I guess really all thats required is a half length connector for this situation. Maybe i'll have a go at remixing the connector to different lengths to see what length works best. Again really great work here!

Nice. Let me know if you succeed. Feel free to upload the new part to makerworld as your own. I’ll make sure to link to it and you can do the same the other way around.

Other Issues:went higher heat now doesn't even go pass 2 percent build

Hi and thanks for the feed back. If you have bed adhesion issues you should try adding a brim to the parts in question.

Hmm... looks odd. This is uncommon, so let's se if we can solve it. I have no idea how experienced you are with 3D printing, so I'm going to suggest a couple of things that you might already have tried. 1: Clean the build plate using warm soapy water (dish washing liquid) and a sponge (not the coarse side, we don't want to scratch that plate surface up) 2: On the clean build plate, print only 1 of the parts that fails. Make sure to add as much brim as possible. I don't know which type of build plate or filament you are using and I don't know which temperatures you are printing at (bed and extruder). So if the above doesn't work or you already tried it, please let me know the type of build plate, filament and temperatures. Best of luck!

Hi, in principle I find this really good. However, it fundamentally tears the corners when I print it, especially when I want to print them inverted. I loaded the file into Tinkercad to see what could be the cause. Screenshot attached. But I can't fix the "error".

Hi. I've added "Corner - inverted v1.1.stl" to the STLs. It's not in the print profile, so you need to grab i separately. I couldn't reproduce the geometry error you experience, so I simply applied the "Fix" command to the object in BambuStudio. I hope it helps, since there is nothing else I can do to fix it, if I can't reproduce the error.

Hello, I am very inexperienced with 3D printing. How exactly do I need to download this so I can commission someone to print it for me? Can you also create zombicide figures? Regards Paolo

Hi. I don’t create minis. Look around to see if you can find a creator that does. 😊

Thank you for the kind words. I’ve tried a couple of possible solutions for the middle tiles, but ended up with this, since the other tiles keep them in place anyway. Feel free to make an add-on. I’ll link to it if you just give me a nudge.

had to print at 50% to keep it from unraveling midprint.

always detaches from plate no matter how slow I make it print or how hot the plate is.

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried adding a Brim on the part(s) in question?

am a noob at all this so not sure how to do that. heck didn't know I could do that.

do you happen to have a version for non-city zombicides? like for fantasy (in my case white death), this would do the job, but i'm asking because the "straight" piece is designed to fit exactly in the street zone that is made when connecting 2 tiles, and for fantasy ones, the zones are (almost) always 1/3 of the tile, so these holders wouldn't align
