Game Play

Objective: Be the first to form a line of either four sequential numbers (like 1-2-3-4 or 2-3-4-5) or four matching elements in any direction: horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

Setup:

  • Place the game board with 8 empty vertical columns.
  • Put all tiles into the included bag for proper randomization (or stack them face-down if preferred).
  • Each player draws 3 tiles to form their starting hand.
  • Randomly determine who goes first; play proceeds clockwise.

Tile Structure: Each tile includes:

  • A number (1-5)
  • All four element icons (Fire, Water, Air, Earth)
  • An optional special action icon

On Your Turn:

  1. Play one tile from your hand:
    • Choose a column and drop your tile into it.
    • Its number, element, and any special action take effect.
  2. Resolve the special action (if any).
  3. Draw a tile from the bag to return to 3 tiles in your hand.

Special Actions:

  • Swap Columns: Swap the full contents of any two columns.
    • Pick up the entire column and swap it with another column. This may be easily to lay one of the columns down while swapping, so the tiles do not fall out.
  • Flip Column: Reverse the order of the current column by simply flipping the column.
  • Place Extra Tile: Immediately place a second tile from your hand (draw afterward).
  • Pop Bottom Tile: Remove the bottom tile from the column you just played in and keep it. (If this gives you 4 tiles, discard one.)
    • Simply lift the column high enough for the bottom tile to fall out and place the column back down.
  • Fist Grab: Take one tile from any other column and add it to your hand. (If this gives you 4 tiles, discard one.)
  • (No icon): No special effect - just a number and element.

Winning the Game: A player immediately wins if they create:

  • A line of four sequential numbers — either 1-2-3-4 OR 2-3-4-5
  • A line of four matching elements, based on the highlighted element shown on the tiles

Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

Printing & Assembly

Assembly is literally a snap, as this game is fully 3D printed. All pieces are oriented in the print profiles for the best printing experience.

Components:

  • 1 Game board with 8 columns
  • Game tiles featuring numbers, elements, and special actions per the print profiles
  • 1 Draw bag for tile randomization like the one at our amazon link: https://amzn.to/4cfTVJu
  • Optional, but optimal
    • 4 high performance 608 bearings
    • 4 BT2.6x8mm self-tapping screws
  • Optional, but cool
    • Bambu Lab tea light or color changing LED for extra fun! Just set it in the bottom and watch the game light up!

Follow these simple steps to get started:

  • Print all print profiles according to the 3MF file.
  • Ensure that brims are used on the tall columns. Carefully remove the brims after printing to ensure that they do not disrupt gameplay.
  • The columns and tiles should slide easily into the grooves on the main cylinder.
  • Don't forget that you can use the spinning tray at the bottom for the lid.

Game Variations

  • Team Play: Form teams of two players who work together, taking alternating turns. Perfect for family game night with younger players.
  • Elemental Masters: In this variation, players must create winning combinations using only their assigned element. Each player chooses or is randomly assigned one of the four elements at the beginning of the game and can only win by creating a line of four sequential numbers or by creating a line of four of their assigned element.
  • Quick Drop: For a faster-paced game, reduce the winning condition to three in a row instead of four. Perfect for shorter game sessions or introducing new players to the mechanics.

Design Intent

At Ozarkexpeditions, we've carefully crafted each component to ensure smooth gameplay and durability, making it a game you'll return to time and time again. The dual winning conditions create multiple strategies to pursue, while the special action tiles ensure no two games play exactly the same way.

The vertical drop mechanics combined with the column manipulations create a constantly evolving game board that rewards both planning and adaptability. We've balanced the game to ensure that players of various skill levels can enjoy a competitive experience with multiple paths to victory.
