FEEDBACK AND IDEAS APPRECIATED

Sylvanian families compatible doll house.

Has 2 floors, 2 ladders, a trap door to the roof. There is an entrance door and a double door for the garden. For the windows, there are window boxes.

I made a 2nd Floor Upgrade. You can get it here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1635485-dollhouse-2nd-floor-upgrade-for-sylvanian-families#profileId-1727725

  • With balcony
  • Stairs to 2nd floor

If you prefer a Rooftop terrace you can use this mod instead the attic.

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2328670-beta-rooftop-terrace-for-my-dollhouse#profileId-2544052

I made a different Rooftop ladder with a little cosy rooftop balcony/terrasse … if you want to try it out, I'll be happy about your feedback!

You can find the upgrade here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2795091-beta-rooftop-terrace-sylvanian-families-dollhouse#profileId-3108667

Almost no waste of filament for support.

Attention! The House is modular: There are no fixed Dimension because you can build it like you want. One half of the base house needs a floor space ~130x245mm. The height of the base house with attic is ~400mm. Every Floor you add, adds about 150mm on height.

I released some flowers for the window boxes.  Maybe you could use it.

Version 1.1

The following changes were made.

The rain roof should be self securing even without glue.

The wall with the two big garden doors got a door stop so it just can be opened to the outside.

The same element got the texture beside the rain roof adjusted, so it looks way nicer.

I am working on a version with window shutters. Work still in progress, stay tuned. I think it will come in version 1.2. Here a little preview, the hinges don't work, so the look will change.

Version 1.2

Added window shutters. All wall parts with windows have to be changed, these are 4 files. There are to versions of the shutters, one with window boxes and one without. There will be separate print profiles.

Further Changes and additions:

In the STL files you could find hinged floors: Hinged FloorsTestPrint.3mf

Attic with higher Floors STL are here:

  • AtticWallLeftHigh.stl
  • AtticWallRightHigh.stl
  • AtticBackWallHigh.stl
  • RooftopLadderHigh.stl

It is still under construction but this is how it looks I cannot use CAD so this is a crude drawing but I would really appreciate it if an optional hinged base that can dock to the floor and open 180 degrees could be provided So that the roof eaves do not interfere a miniature fountain or object can be placed on the slightly protruding hinge part and I think it would open and close smoothly if there were rollers or spherical casters on the back of the base to improve sliding Your kind consideration would be greatly appreciated

I can’t do a test print at the moment, but I’ve uploaded the files under the STL section as Hinged FloorsTestPrint.3mf Since the print bed isn’t large enough, I had to split the floor base into two parts The two parts should be connected and fixed with a bit of glue Feel free to test it — I’d really appreciate your feedback!😊

Rather than opening it with Bambu Studio, you need to choose "Download STL/CAD Files" and then download those STL files. Creator explains those files at the end of his description.

Hey, it should be printed fine without support on this specific part. What print profile did you use? I would use a small flathead screwdriver and pull it out; you could destroy the support and dig in to get it out. Edit: I updated the 1.22 profile. Now it should print this part without support. It's not needed. The printer could bridge it easily.

We were about to buy some dollhouse for our daughter, one of brands we considered was Sylvanian Families. Then I thought - wait, we have a 3D printer, it should be possible to print something like that on our own. So, here we are. :) Really nice model! But could you educate me a bit? I'm a bit lost what parts are needed to be printed and what parts should be printed twice to make "a closed" house. I see there were upgrades and there are two main print profiles. I started with "Todaysthedayyy98 Reddit edition 2 Flors, window box/shutters", but then I saw there is no roof part without the trap door hole. I already printed some parts from it (two floor plates, some walls and a roof with a trap hole). Then I found "0.2mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill" profile, which has second part of the roof (without the trap door hole), but are all other parts compatible? It's something written about changes to plates with windows. So I'm a bit confused. :)

You always start with a floor plate. All wall parts are designed to fit into these floor plates. For each story you have: one long wall (per side) two short walls (left and right) You can stack as many stories as you want (up to the point where it stays stable). The additional “2nd floor” files add a proper staircase and a balcony. Inside the STL folder you will also find a hinged floor version. That one is completely optional – some people use it to open the house like a book. Before printing everything, decide:

how many stories you want whether you want functional opening floors if you want shutters, flower boxes, or both This helps you pick the right parts. The attic consists of: two low attic walls the roof on top and the ladder to reach it If you mirror walls or roof pieces in the slicer, you get even more layout options. There are also two types of window shutters (long and short), depending on whether you use flower boxes. About the different print profiles: The 1.21 print profile is the most complete and up-to-date version. It includes all base parts for a closed house (roof with trap door). This is what I recommend for a “normal” closed house. Everything you already printed does not need to be reprinted – just skip those parts. The picture below uses almost all available parts in a wild combination (and some furniture) so you can see whats possible with my parts. Just look at the posted pi cutes in the comments from both house parts. If you have new questions, feel free to ask

Thank you so much for detailed explanation. Yeah, I also was thinking 1.21 print profile is most recent/complete one, but was confused when I didn't find second part of the roof (without the trap door hole). Also Plate 7 and Plate 8 - look duplicated, both with WallLeft1hinges.stl, while WallRight2hinges.stl is further below on Plate 12. At the same time there is also WallRight2hinges.stl. There are also some more *1.stl and some *2.stl. So what's the difference? Is it best to go with 2 version? :) I don't want to look picky, just was confused a bit. ;)

Came out well. I had issues with Plate 6 and broke it out into 2 plates. The awning will need to be glued in as it comes off easily.

Thank you so much, you're my hero today. Some improvements I've already discovered myself include: a stop for the large double garden doors so they can't open inward. I had that in mind, but then somehow forgot. Did you have any problems with the front door? I see you didn't use it in the photos. I would be very happy if we could stay in touch. Do you allow me to use your pictures for my Makerworld Model site? Made a change to the awning connector, I'll partly test print it today. Turns out that it holds well. I'll release the change with the next update

I was still printing it so just installed the door. I just added a few more photos here. After I got the door in it opened pretty easily. Yes you can use the photos.

hiya is there a way to connect them side by side as I see that the roof overhangs the sides slightly, thank you!

Hi! Yes, there is a way to connect them side by side. I included special floor parts in the STL files that allow the two house halves to be connected and opened like a hinge. Because of the roof overhang, the connection is done via the floors rather than at the roof level. Does that solve what you were looking for, or did you have something else in mind? Thanks!

thanks for replying! I'm aimimg to build 5 storeys high and 4 across so wanted to be able to have them all joined permanently next to each other. Im going to have a play around with removing the overhang on the roof so they could be right next to each other maybe add some connectors maybe fusing 2 "walls" (double the thickness with connectors on both sides) together so that they would act as joins as well 🤔

Would you want to have a way to walk between both sides? There is some support needed, But i Could make a cut version of the roof and some double walls you could connect both halves. ... give me some time.

beautiful house. I had no problems printing it. actually made it 3 floors high. I’ve just ordered more filament to reprint some pieces I messed up (my mistake, there is nothing wrong with the original files). now I just need to start printing furniture and find a Sylvanian family to move in.

This print is from @user_298235215 , but I'm almost sure that are the Bambu PLA Basic filaments with the following colors. Red (10200) Beige (10201) Blue grey (10602) hope that helps. Nice color selection btw.

Hello there, I really love your arched openings, is there any chance you would be so kind as to share the file you used to print them? I'm not sure if it's ok to ask, but I would appreciate it so much!
