Description

8.5.2025 - Paddle Switch version now available!  Check out the print profile for it today!

Ahh, merchandising! It’s where the real money from the movie is made! In the grand tradition of Spaceballs: The Flamethrower, Spaceballs: The Toilet Paper, and Spaceballs: The Breakfast Cereal—built upon the stellar work of blunt with his switch and outlet covers—I present to you… Spaceballs: The Light Switch Cover!

Now you can harness the awesome power of The Schwartz to illuminate your surroundings with just the flick of a switch! This glorious 3D-printed relic of intergalactic capitalism fits over your standard Earth light switch, turning your dull, lifeless wall into a shrine to all things Spaceballs!

Worried about safety? Fuggedaboutit!

Fits over a UL-compliant plate, so your insurance is safe (probably). I'm no lawyer—but The Schwartz would never steer you wrong.

What's more, the Spaceballs cover now sits flush against the wall - no more ugly gap

So don’t be a Druish princess about it—print it, install it, and bask in the warm glow of Spaceballs: The Light Switch Cover!

May the Schwartz be with you!

If you are in need of a Dual Gang version, check out Spaceballs: The Light Cover (Twins Edition)! Twice the Schwarz at your fingertips!

Profile is not set up to work well with face-down printing. Used my normal profile for such prints and it came out nicely.

Thank you for the feedback. Could you please elaborate on what was not set up correctly in the profile so I can improve it?

Provided is a bone-stock 0.20mm Standard profile. That yields all the common issues, specifically for aesthetic prints when the bottom surface is the presentable side: 1) very wide first layer (0.5mm) does not help with details and encourages color bleeding. 2) use of Classic wall engine does not produce sharp lines in tight spaces. 3) multiple walls on first layer does not help hide any inconsistencies between first and second layer 4) monotonic bottom surface pattern prevents tight spaces from being cleanly filled 5) rectilinear solid internal infill pattern will create visual anomalies on top surfaces (not important for this print but generally relevant) 6) grid sparse infill 🤮 7) narrow sparse infill detection is enabled, creating concentric patterns (also not a huge issue but also generally relevant) 8) the text is 1mm deep yet only three bottom surface layers are used. There are two wasted material changes for non-solid layers (relevant for a less opaque white)

To solve those issues: 1) reduce initial layer line width to something that will not be so round. I used 0.42mm. This will slightly increase print time. 2) use the Arachne wall engine, and possibly increase transition angle as suggested by looking at sliced preview. 3) only one wall on first layer will add variation between the first and second layer, hiding flaws and gaps. 4) use monotonic line 5) use monotonic line 6) for this print, I'd use aligned rectilinear or gyroid. Never grid. 7) disable it 8) either increase bottom surface count to 5 or reduce the depth of the text to 0.6mm, instruct the print to begin with white.

There is a larger, paddle cover version under a different profile, unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean by a Rocker version?
