Threaded Acorn Geocache Secret Container
Print Profile(3)

Description
A geocaching contianer in the shape of an acorn! With a twist cap and secure hanging hole.
I have bought a few acorn style caches (non-3D printed) but they are delicate and seem to break. I have been pondering making one for a while. Initially, I had no clue how to model this in Fusion 360 but a recent project made me learn a new tool - revolve! I realised that I could use that to design this acorn model.
The threads have a tolerance of 0.2mm and screw together nicely.
There are two sizes available and both print 'by object' to save on filament when printing in two colours.
Full scale model -
Model dimensions: H:72mm x W:44mm.
Inner tube diameter: 30mm and a depth of 44mm (approx).
On my printer, supports are needed on the acorn top but they clear easily afterwards. The bottom ‘nut’ prints no problems without supports.
Fuzzy skin is turned on for the top part to give it the more realistic texture.
Smaller model (75% scale) -
Model dimensions: H:54mm x W:33mm.
Inner tube diameter: 22mm and a depth of 33mm (approx).
Fuzzy skin is turned on for the top part to give it the more realistic texture.
On my printer/filament, this needs supports on both the body and the top cap.
I tried a 50% model but wasn't happy with the threads and felt they were too weak. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend making it any smaller at this time.
If you are printing this model, I would love to see the GC code later on!
