Shush Mute for Tuba

This is a quick first attempt at a mute for my tuba. Considering mutes for such large instruments would usually cost upwards of $100, I figured it would be nice for others to have a starting point for their own solutions. This is a remix from a nice trumpet mute model I found on Thingiverse scaled up and stretched out a bit to basically fit my tuba (v2 likely on the way with some sort of custom design). Measure your horn before printing! I used the build plate as a guide and just eyeballed it for testing purposes. 

Covering the hole at the top with your hand or something else allows for easier pitch control in my testing, giving a decent range of usable tones pitched about a whole step up. It's not perfect but hopefully it will give some folks more opportunities to play in tuba-unfriendly environments!
