Makita LXT Bit Holder cover - Clips to Tool!

I made this replacement cover for the Makita LXT impact bit holder because the original Battery Shaped Case didn’t even fit into a tool—which makes no sense because that’s exactly why I bought it!??

This version actually locks into the tool like a battery. The idea is simple: when you're bringing multiple tools to a job site but only one or two batteries, you can stick this onto your tool instead of carrying yet another thing in your pockets or bag. 

The original cover and spring are very easy to remove. Just push the pin with a sharp object and the old cover pops off. 

Line the holes in the new cover with the bottom part and slide the pin back while the spring is in position.
