Conversion of an Ikea 365+ 10.6l box into a filament spool holder & dispenser including integrated silica gel for filament drying.

It fits 2 x 1kg spools or up to 4 x ½ kg spools in the box (or 1 x 1kg + 2 x ½ kg as seen in my pictures).

The spools are mounted on a movable spool holder, allowing for easy unwinding in the box when the filament is fed directly to the printer through the integrated PTFE tube. This is optimal for TPU, for example, which does not work in the AMS.

When the filament is not in use, it can be clamped directly to the tube with the PTFE end cap until the next use. The box does not need to be opened (any overhanging filament that has been fed to the printer may need to be cut off).

If one of the tubes is not in use, it can be hermetically sealed with the other cap. In both cases, no moisture enters the box and the filament remains dry.

Only 2 drops of glue are needed to glue the inner rod together.

Then the 6 bushings are pushed on and everything is hung in the holder.

The finished product looks like this:

A 4mm drill bit is needed for the hole of the PTFE tubes (for 4mm PTFE tubes ;-)).
