Appreciate it.
While spring cleaning, I put on a new 3D printed hitch plug. During removal I found about a cup of sand, dirt and small rocks inside the hitch receiver. Blame the heavily sanded roads this past winter. I needed to clean it all out for the install and most of it went on the garage floor.
Enter the 3D solution. The front part of the receiver hole was already plugged with a hitch plug but the rocks/sand made it's way into the rear of the receiver, after all it's nothing more than a square pipe. I needed a no frills plug on the other end. I needed it sturdy (PETG), easy to install & remove if I ever had to. It does not to have to be beautiful, just do it's job of keeping out the dirt.
Installation is easy. Just tap it into the other end of your receiver and make sure it is flush against the frame and you are good to go.
Removal. I don't think, in my case, that I will ever have to remove it but I wanted to be able to should I need to. Thinking ahead, I put some screwdriver slot cut outs to pry the plug out and a false center hole that I could easily twist a screw into the center so I could lock on to it with some vise grips or pliers to pull it out.
