Ultra Long-Spin Top – NOW WITH STARTER!

This spinning top is quickly and easily printed from two parts and then simply plugged together. And keeps on spinning. My personal record was 04:03 Minutes on a glas surface. With the new starter, even longer spin times are possible!

As the needle is a separate part, it can be replaced quickly and easily without having to reprint the base. This saves filament and time.

Some people find the standard version a bit difficult to spin. For that case, there’s a longer needle version available. The starter set also includes a longer needle. Of course, all the needles fit the base, so you can try them out quickly and easily.

Both parts have a special internal geometry, which ensures an optimal center of gravity and enables the longest possible rotation time.

For example, the edge of the spinning top is completely filled, while the center is filled only as much as necessary to provide sufficient space for storing energy on the outside. The tip is also only completely filled at the bottom. The center of gravity is kept as low as possible to enable long and stable operation.

Another advantage of this is that the spinning top needs very little space, so you can easily start it at your desk and look at it to calm down.

I have added a second version with a slightly longer needle, which makes the spinning top easier to spin but also causes it to run for a slightly shorter time. But still soooooo long! I have tested different lengths and geometries, and this model offers the best compromise.

A lot of people have been asking for it, and I’ve finally made it: the starter! You can keep the base, only the needle and the starter need to be printed. This makes even longer shooting schedules possible. Amazing!
