Description

This model is of the famous Taylor Prism in the British Museum that recounts the history and conquests of the Assyrian king, Sennacherib. Of special interest is the reference to “Hezekiah the Jew” who Sennacherib had seiged in Jerusalem. While Hezekiah had paid tribute to Sennacherib, the seige was unsuccessful in taking the city (2 Kings 18-19).

The base structure of the model comes from this model on Sketchfab (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/sennacheribs-prism-eb6ba9b8d9744850b087f54da056974b), but the texture panels were merged into the 3D print using imagetostl.com.

The model is scaled to match the true artifact's size, and then cut into two pieces for printing on Bambu P1P. The main 3mf file is cut into two pieces for printing using a dovetail cut, which worked very well to combine the two halves. The only supports used were on the bottom of the top half. (No supports were used for the small textures generated from the cuneiform images.)

To save time and filament, I printed mine with the Lightning infill with no problems.
