MultiBOOM 1/4-20 heat-set insert adapter/mount
Print Profile(1)

Description
I recently changed out my old camera mount for K2_Kevin's MultiBOOM system. If you follow me, you may recall the remix I made for mounting the boom to a shelf post instead of a Multiboard. As others have found, because of the nature of how Kevin's ¼-20 adapter prints out, the threads that attach to your device aren't the strongest (layer lines going the same direction as the stress will be). I thought it might be nice to make a replacement that uses a brass heat-set insert, so here we are!
You can get the Ruthex ¼-20 inserts on Amazon, or other places as well. Other brands may work, but I've only tested with Ruthex. If your insert fits in an 8mm hole with a depth of under 13mm, it probably fits. Here's the Ruthex inserts I bought.
Print this thing as strong as you can - my profile is set to print with 100% infill to maximize strength and material for the insert to grab on to. If you're printing in PLA, pick something strong. I used Polymaker's PolyLite Pro.
Depending on your camera setup, you may need a male-to-male adapter like I did to mount my Wyze v4 Cam. I used these, and they work great.
