Wargaming Movement Trays (25 mm to 65 mm)

Miniature Wargaming Movement Trays

I made these simple movement trays to simplify tabletop wargaming and speed up WH40k, etc. The trays feature pockets for 3-5 standard size bases and a stick, with which you can move the tray around more easily. You can texture and paint the trays to match the bases of your models, making the trays rather dioramic.

The movement stick does not necessarily have to be glued in place, as gravity will prevent it from escaping its slot underneath the tray when the tray is lifted. This way you can also store the trays more easily.

The print profiles have been optimized for A1 Mini, with a single or a pair of five-model trays or a single three-model tray per plate, depending on the base size. For convenience, I will provide print profiles for 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm nozzles, in case you need to print some in a pinch and do not have time or access to re-slice the .3MF. I printed these in Bambu Lab PLA Matte, but practically any rigid filament should do the trick.

Tray Sizes

The trays have been tested to fit the following (round) Citadel miniature bases:

• 25 mm - small infantry, old standard size
• 32 mm - new standard infantry size
• 40 mm - mid-sized infantry and characters
• 50 mm - large infantry
• “60 mm" - monsters and small vehicles
  • The pocket fits anything up to 66 mm. This Citadel base is measured from the top of the rim instead of the bottom of the rim, which gives the “60 mm” base  and actual diameter of around 64 mm.

Small and large Citadel flying bases should fit in the 32 mm and 60 mm movement trays, respectively.

Stick Options

By default, each printer plate features a stick that will protrude around 70 mm from the top of the plate. This is enough for most infantry models, but might be too short for bigger monsters or vehicles. To account for this case, there are 100, 135 and 170 mm high movement sticks on separate printer plates.

Future Improvements

These are the main base sizes I personally use, but I can quite easily update the print profiles with more base sizes. This is also my first published model, so any feedback is much appreciated!
