Description

Wall Clock with Stylized Birds – DIY Assembly

This unique wall clock is designed as a modular piece, allowing you to arrange the elements directly on your wall to create a personalized timepiece. The clock face consists of four main numbers—3, 6, 9, and 12—while small triangular markers indicate the five-minute intervals.

The highlight of the design is a set of four stylized birds in line art, elegantly simulating a bird's flight. Each component of the clock is made up of two separate layers: an inner fill and an outer outline. This allows you to customize the look with different colors for contrast—without using AMS. The two layers need to be glued together, and depending on your printer’s settings, some minor sanding might be required for a perfect fit.

For my personal version, I chose a black fill with a phosphorescent outline, making the clock visible in the dark. Unfortunately, my phone doesn't capture the glow well, but I would love to see photos from anyone who builds this project!

Assembly Instructions

To mount the clock, I first lightly traced a circle on the wall with a pencil to use as a guide. Then, I secured the clock mechanism box using a 6mm wall anchor. After installing the mechanism, I set it to 12:00 and rotated the minute hand for a full cycle. At the end of the first full hour, I attached the first triangular marker. I repeated this process for each marker, ensuring that every complete hour cycle aligned the hour hand with a new clock element.

All components are attached to the wall using foam double-sided crafting tape, allowing for a firm yet adjustable hold. The birds can be positioned freely, giving you the flexibility to create a unique decorative arrangement.

The clock mechanism must be purchased separately (a link will be provided). A PDF with dimensions is attached for easy reference.

Happy printing and assembling! 😊
