Description

SimCity 2000 brought us cities of the future!

In the form of the Arcology. This particular one is called the “Launch Arcology”
From the video game wiki:
Available at around the year 2150. The 'Launch Arco' is the largest, holding 65,000 inhabitants.

Here is the original image from the game:

This model is loosely based on the image above. Since the “back” of the Arcology is never seen in the video game, you can only guess what is on all sides! The glass dome at the top was re-created in this model from an 80mm holiday ornament ball from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YHN6ZTT
I truly hope we are one day able to 3D print plastic that clear!

When designing this model, I chose to make it in 3 Parts:
The Twisting Base

The Cylinder Body

The Top Park

I ended up making the Body Hollow to hold objects when you lift the dome & park off of the top.

The 2 “floating” area's of the base required support and you MUST USE CARE when removing the tree support from those areas!

You might also want to glue the base and cylinder body together.
That's it, If you enjoy this mode and want to see more, please consider giving me a Boost and be sure to check out all of my other designs!
